The Magnesia Chamber of Commerce originated from the merger of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Professionals and Small and Medium Industries of Volos, in May 1988. Throughout this period of continuous operation, the Chamber has been associated with all the economic and business events of the prefecture. The Chamber monitors and promotes growth conditions in the region.

In addition, the Chamber is active in the ongoing development of the local business community. The mission includes large and small initiatives:

• Effective operation as a statutory body of the Greek state in the areas of economic development and promotion of entrepreneurship.

•Servicing thousands of business members, guided by innovative support and guidance services.

In this capacity, the Magnesia Chamber of Commerce:

1. Submits advisory recommendations to the trade, manufacturing and service sectors often impacting the national economy. The Chamber also participates in infrastructure planning forums and has it’s eye on the development of trade, manufacturing, services and overall is tasked with ameliorating productivity and production.

2. Provides public authority services including licenses, certificates, permits, etc. and disseminates information to members— and the state—on foreign markets, international economic developments and other related issues.

3. Maintains the General Registry and the "One Stop Shop", provides updates on financial programs, implements researches and studies on entrepreneurship, and organizes seminars on technical safety, food hygiene and other areas.
The objective of the Magnesia Chamber of Commerce for businesses in the Northern Sporades Islands is the implementation of integrated and targeted actions to exploit the natural and cultural wealth of the region.

Central to the Chamber’s mission is an effort to synergize actions amongst the island enterprises. This effort will upgrade services, enhance competitiveness and utilize natural resources in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.

Achieving this objective is a primary goal of the Chamber of Magnesia. Our intent is to strengthen the business environment, support the search for new markets and assist in the promotion of local products. Finally our intention is to repreresent the region and businesses in an effort to attract investors and ultimately help improve the competitiveness of the region.



Food & Beverage Industry with special mention of the Fish industry, the Aromatic Herbs, the Dairy Industry with renowned cheeses, and last but not least the successful Soft Drink Category. All exporters of the mentioned Categories are included in our Guide.
